We completed our drive to Williamsburg, VA at approximately 11:45AM. The 4-hour drive from Stephens City, VA, where we had spent the previous night, was pleasant. The majority of our drive was along Route 17, which is primarily a divided two-lane flat highway that rolls through rural surroundings and small towns. It is a scenic and tranquil roadway, with very little traffic.
We saw a motorcycle trailer during today’s travels that I think would be PERFECT for our motorcycle!
While in Williamsburg, we are staying at Quality Inn Colony, which is within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg. After checking into our hotel, we walked to Colonial Williamsburg. It is about a half mile walk to the historic area. We spent approximately 4 hours at Colonial Williamsburg today. We are going back tomorrow, so I will blog about Colonial Williamsburg after tomorrow’s visit. We ate dinner at Cracker Barrel. Our waitress was a young lady from Romania, who was living in the U.S. during the summer. Ella returns to her homeland in one week. She was excited to return home but sad to leave Williamsburg. Ella had a bubbly personality and was very personable. She took good care of us during our dinner. After dinner we returned to our hotel, where we stayed in for rest of the night.
