New Year’s Eve 2009
Bob and I spent part of New Year’s Eve in the company of friends. Our friends, Garry and Linda, hosted a New Year’s Eve party. Guests included family members and friends. We enjoyed great conversation, lots of laughs and great-tasting food. The main course was beef on weck, which Linda prepared. The rest of us brought dishes to pass. Bob and I brought a meat, cheese and cracker tray. I’ve included in this blog post photographs of everyone with whom we spent New Year’s Eve.

We congregated in three rooms — the living room (shown here), dining room and kitchen.

This is “Honk” (sorry I didn’t catch his real name).
We tend to meet someone new each year that we are at Linda and Garry’s house for New Year’s Eve. This year we met “Honk” for the first time. “Honk” brought a jug of beer to the party.

This is “Honk’s” wife, Pam.
I met Pam for the first time; however, Bob and Pam knew each other. They graduated high school together. They hadn’t seen each other since high school.

This is Jack and Sandy.
Jack has a great sense of humor; he keeps me and others in stitches of laughter.

Bob and Garry, who work at the same company, have known each other for 25 years.

Counting myself, there were three Linda’s at our New Year’s Eve gathering.
This was the third year that we have celebrated New Year’s Eve with Garry and Linda. As always, we had a good time. Thank you for inviting us, Garry and Linda!

Another fun gathering Linda, and great close up portrait shots.
Made me feel like I was there. I'm afraid I'm starting to come down with something “Cabin Fever” LOL
What a great bunch of friends! I had to look up beef on weck. Bobby Flay had the answer… sounds delicious, must try soon.Happy New Year to you and yours!
Thank you, Denise. Using an external flash has made a world of difference in my portrait shots.I hear you, Joe. When the feel-like temperature goes below zero, I stay indoors as much as possible.Beef on weck is a tradition in western NY, where our hostess lived most of her life.
It looks like you had a lot of fun! Yes, Mary had quite a time settling down from her little performance on New Year Eve. She got pretty wound up:)
