The Beauty Around Us

Welcome to the 21st Century

On Friday we purchased two new cellular telephones and extended our mobile contract for another 2 years. A 2-year contract is acceptable to us, as we have had the same cellular service since November 2001 with no complaints.Bob’s new phone is a Blackberry Bold 9700. My new phone is a Pantech Impact. We kept our same talk plan but added two new services. Bob now has an unlimited data plan on his phone, and I have unlimited messaging service on my phone. Neither of us have had experience with either of these plans. It’s going to take some time to learn our new phone features, but I’m sure we’ll wonder soon why we waited so long to join the 21st century.

Better you than me, LOL. I carry a TracFone for emergencies. I cannot even remember the phone number, so I wrote it in permanent marker on the phone. Usually the phone is in my purse, turned off. I will check it once in a while to see if I need to charge the battery. If anyone left a voice mail message, I may not be able to retrieve it – I don't know how. Every year I renew the contract for $99. I don't even know how many prepaid units are available on it, because we never use them all, accumulating thousands of units over the years. So clearly, we are not in the 21st century!Cynthia

I have a cell but just the basic one in my son's plan. Since I have a Palm for my calendar, etc. I know I'd love a Blackberry, but I simply do not use the phone that much.(I must admit that a am a little jealous though!)

I had just up-dated my phone, also. It's the LG EnVtouch. It does so much more than what I use it for, but all the extra's that it can do cost extra money. The extra's are nice to have, but I would not use them all that much. I'll stay with the standard for awhile. Will maybe down-grade to something else. Maybe to one of the phones that I already have.
