A Friendly Weekend
We had such a nice weekend. Yesterday we got together with Val and Michael, and today we got together with several other friends.
Val is a fellow blogger, who happens to live in Warren too. We follow each others blogs. We met in person, accidentally, last year in July. Bob and I were at Applebee’s. Shortly after our dinners were served, a woman comes up to our table. She greeted us and asked if Bob was Bob. We said yes. The woman introduced herself as Marcy of Michael and Marcy’s Wild Ideas blog. (I think Val is Marcy’s middle name; her family and friends call her Val.) Val recognized Bob from photographs of him on my blog. After that chance encounter at Applebee’s, Val and I talked about the four of us getting together. Family events and travel kept that from happening, until yesterday. The four of us met for dinner yesterday at Applebee’s. After dinner Val and Michael invited us to their home. During the evening we learned that the four of us have much in common. For example, Michael enjoys riding motorcycle, and both Michael and Val like to travel. We enjoyed an easy-going camaraderie, as though we had been friends for a long time rather than just meeting. I hope that we get to spend more time with our new friends in the coming months. I didn’t take any pictures of Michael and Val. If you visit their blog, though, you will see a picture of them.
This afternoon we met with three other couples for lunch at Variety Buffet, a Chinese restaurant. All four men are, or were, coworkers. We enjoyed an afternoon of lively conversation, boisterous laughter and delicious food.

It was Garry and Linda’s idea to get together for lunch at Variety Buffet.
We had a great time. Thank you for inviting us!

Beth, Brian’s wife, didn’t want her photograph taken, so we compromised.

Besides spending a great weekend with new and long-time friends, it was great not to have to cook all weekend long!

That's great Linda, nothing more enjoyable than getting together with good friends and what an interesting story of how you met your blogging friend. Such fun! I'll check her link out right after this.

And someday, I hope to have enough time to meet up with you too. BTW, I'm working at the Mall Kwik Fill now. Stop in sometime.
Linda: Nice to see you and your friends together for dinner.
