Waxing Gibbous Moon
I took this photograph of the waxing gibbous moon at approximately 10:30 PM yesterday. I’ve taken pictures of the full moon before. This was my first successful photograph of the moon at a phase other than full.

The words themselves a poem
Turning full moon soon

Linda, I am honored that you used my haiku. Your photograph is wonderful. For some reason, the post with the haiku on the gibbous moon, has been one of my most popular pages over the years.
Nicely done! I always struggle with applying rule of thirds for this subject. I just can't bring myself to do it!Arne
Nice details on the moon. Have you tried sharpening it a bit. I think it is a bit soft on the centre of the moon. Maybe boosting the in-camera sharpening may help..Ram
Of course that was just my opinion.. :)Ram
I have never been able to get a good picture with my camera and I am jealous! Your shot is beautiful!
Great photo I still haven't gotten a good moon photo
Fabulous, Linda…. I love seeing pictures of the moon —in all phases.Hugs,Betsy
Great shot Linda. When I shoot the moon it either comes out to bright or out of focus. I tried the moon yesterday before dark and I was hoping for a jet to fly over or under it with no luck. For the art of thirds on a photo, I can never remember that even though I use it each week on video as We tape Our Senior Report show in Mayville. I'm so glad We made contact again on FB. I was so jelious of the ice castle fireworks several years ago where You had Yours posted the same night and I had to get My film developed and then scan. Keep up the great work. Randall.
Fantastic photo Linda! And perfect haiku to go with it!
Wow want an amazing photo. I would love to be able to photograph the night sky!
Thank you, everyone, for your comments. They are very much appreciated.
