My Hard-Working Husband
This blog post is about my husband. Bob is employed by a local company as a machine operator. He spends most of his work day on his feet in a noisy and hot, especially on summer-like days like today, environment. His tasks can be both mentally and physically challenging. His work day doesn’t always end when he comes home.
When Bob came home from work on Monday, he mowed the lawn while waiting for the charcoal to get hot. After mowing the grass, Bob grilled steak for our dinner.
Yesterday, when Bob came home from work, he grilled burgers for dinner. While waiting for the charcoal to get hot, Bob relaxed in the shade and listened to one of his podcasts.

After dinner Bob trimmed the hedges along the front of our house. After trimming the hedges, Bob relaxed on our front porch.

Don’t the hedges look nice?
Oh, and I believe it was this week as well that the bathroom vanity door came off in my hand when I opened it. Bob fixed that too.

He deserves all these little breaks you caught him taking. 😉
Mine has a similar work schedule, and they both deserve the time off they have!!
I have a favorite saying: The best aphrodisiac is man who works around the house is. 🙂
Bob is a superman! Great post Linda and a loving tribute to your hard working husband.
Linda, I know just where Bob is coming from. I've been there so many, many times in the past that I just don't remember them all.For 30 yrs, I worked in Industry as a Class A Machinist. Working 2 shifts and sometimes 3 shifts, changing from one shift to another each week started to take a heavy toll on me. The temp. in the Machine Shop, during the Summer months, would sometimes reach 105 degrees in the corners! Temp's in the shop itself would get as high as in the low 90's. Machining Industrial Plastics and Steel would get quite hot and very tiring. Finally, after 30 yrs. of doing this, I decided to retire from the Trade. I don't do it anymore. After working like this during the Summer, I'd come home and try and do what had to be done. There were many times that I was just so darn tired, I'd just sit, have a beer, and chill out. Just like your Husband. Then do it all over again the next day.Take a well deserved break, Bob. You deserve it. Being the Male, it's our job to bring home the bread for the table.Les
What a sweet guy and very thoughtful post! Men who work hard and take care of their home are to be praised.
Its great to let them know now and again how much we appreciate them, mustn't over do it though or they might get big headed! He did make a good job of the hedge trimming and deserves the nap.
