My Mother’s Day Present
Yes, it is a little late to be writing about my mother’s day present. I couldn’t, however, write earlier about something that I only recently received. My stepdaughter, Stacey, wished me a Happy Mother’s Day on Mother’s Day. Stacey said that she couldn’t give me my present that day, as she didn’t have “all the pieces put together”.
I discovered my Mother’s Day present on June 2, when Bob and I came home from a 2-week vacation in Hawaii. When I opened the refrigerator, a large tray full of food greeted me. The tray included all the ingredients for a “dinner for two”; recipes included.
I didn’t see the tray on which the food was stacked until Thursday, when I prepared our dinner for two.
Those of you who know me know that I like lighthouses. A lot of thought went into this gift, from the food all the way to the tray. Thank you very much, Stacey, for your thoughtful Mother’s Day present! It was worth the wait!

What a beautiful thoughtful gift. So much planning, time and effort went into that sweet present. What a thoughtful step daughter you have. She is a gem!
Hi Linda, What a fabulous Mother's Day gift…. That is one of the best presents you could have gotten –especially after being gone for 2 weeks. Love the tray also–since I also love lighthouses. Hugs,Betsy
Linda, what a wonderful gift, and the tray is lovely. Hm, wonder if I can drop a hint about how nice it was to have dinner nearly all prepared. 😉
That is so cool!! What a sweet girl she is. Welcome back from your trip. That sounds like a lot of fun:) I look forward to your pictures.
It isn't the time you receive the gift…it is the thought behind it and Stacey did herself proud! Happy Belated Mother's Day, Linda!
How thoughtful of Stacey. I like the way she has nicely wrapped the little food parcel. I would like to try the marinated salmon and the prawn. I am a big fan of sea food.I hope your husband like the Sape music. I didn't appreciate it when I was young and visiting a Long house. Now I am away from Borneo, I love it.
Looks like a meal fit for a Queen. How cool is that!!! I'm glad you had the presence of mind to take a photo of it.
How sweet and it says alot about you that your step daughter did this for you!
Aww, that is so thoughtful of Stacey! Everything came together nicely! Lovely tray! 🙂
How lovely! The tray will be a permanent reminder of your lovely step-daughter's thoughtfulness:-)
What a sweet present. I can hardly wait to see the Hawaii photos.
How special and sweet!!
I think that is one of the nicest mother's day gifts I have ever seen. What a thoughtful gift and a very sweet girl to give it to you after your vacation.
Did not realize you were back to blogging…going to try to catch up as the night goes on. This was a really thoughtful gift…I bet you and Bob both enjoyed it.
