Wild Woods Animal Park

On Sunday (September 19th) Bob and I visited Wild Woods Animal Park in nearby Clarendon (Cherry Grove), PA. We visited the animal park with Bob’s daughter, Stacey; Stacey’s boyfriend, Mike; Mike’s parents; and Stacey’s mother and stepfather. According to its website, Wild Woods Animal Park “is a biological park (infancy stages) nestled in a haven of natural woodlands that is dedicated to the continuing survival of wild species through education”. All of the animals in the park appear to be well taken care of and loved by John and Pam Pape.

John and Pam took us on a private tour of the animal park. At each animal enclosure the animals were fed, and John and Pam provided information on each animal. What I liked most about this animal park was the interaction between wild animals and John and Pam.

Priscilla was born in early August, this year.

Wild Woods Animal Park is home to the annual Seneca Native American Festival. The fifth annual festival was held this year during Labor Day weekend. Bob and I have not yet attended this festival; however, we definitely hope to attend the festival sometime.

If you live in the Warren, PA area or if you ever find yourself in this area, a visit to Wild Woods Animal Park is a must. You will not be disappointed!

Oh, I LOVE these photos! I am a huge animal lover. This is reminiscent to a place my parents used to take us when I was growing up, although the place I'm talking about didn't have as many wild animals, in Penryn, PA. Unfortunately, the place I visited often as a child is no longer in existence.Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment.

I really enjoyed your visit to Wild Wood. You got some great pictures of the animals. I really like that tiger cub. We have a white skunk that sometimes stops by for a visit, but I wouldn't want to get up close and personal with it.

Nice information Linda. Though I am not a great fan of caging animals, this one seems quite different. I am really happy to know that John and Pam do interact a lot with the animals, which is heartening to know..Ram

Great photographs! It is just such a shame that wild animals are not allowed their freedom, sometimes because they are at risk from poaching.

Sounds like a great place to visit! Loved your pics – you do have a knack. I don't recall seeing raccoons in any zoos around here – unless they were wandering around the part eating from the garbage cans. LOL – just joking I am sure they have them somewhere as they are “wild” animals. I forget that as they are seen every day wandering the streets of Toronto – Racoons are such pests around these parts.
