First Major Snowfall of 2010-2011 Season
Since Sunday morning (December 5) we have been under a lake effect snow warning. The warning is scheduled to end this evening at 7:00 PM. From our kitchen window I have watched the snow pile up on top of our bird feeder.
The top left picture was taken on December 2 at 9:34 AM. The next two pictures were taken on December 5 at 8:51 AM and at 6:09 PM.

I took this picture of the bird feeder at 7:59 this morning.

There are 19 inches of snow on the ground; it is still snowing.
Here are a few more photographs that I took this morning from our driveway, which Bob has removed snow from several times over the past couple days. My boots aren’t high enough to traipse around the yard!

We only got about 5 or 6 inches of very dry powder out of that storm. It's still flurrying but the high winds of the past couple of days have blown away at least half of what fell. That's fine by me. Last December we got 25 inches out of a late fall storm and it lasted until the end of January.
WOW! Its white all over. How about the transportation? Are the roads being cleared?
How very pretty Linda, and I love how you have shown the different heights on your bird house as the snow falls. No snow here yet 🙂
Winter has certainly arrived at your house. The snow is very pretty, but I think I'll let you keep it up there.
beautiful shots
@Denise – You had enough snow last year to last you a while 🙂
@Trails of a Traveler – The roads are being cleared, Ram. It is difficult to keep up, though, because the snow keeps falling. The local school district was closed yesterday and today because of inclement weather.
You've beaten us for volume, I think. That bird feeder is just crazy!
Holy Cow, Linda… Do you get this much every year???? I've heard of the Buffalo areas getting alot of snow –but didn't realize you all in PA would get it also… Unbelievable… I have never seen that much snow at one time… Gads–as much as I love snow, I'm not sure I could handle that much. How do you all go to work????? Yipes…Hugs –and PRAYERS,Betsy
LInda, you have a winter wonderland there. Is it still snowing? I would be a happy camper if it misses us all winter.
