Girls Day Out
I spent this past Friday in Erie with two friends, Valerie and Paula. Paula lives in Dallas, Texas. It was Paula’s first visit to Pennsylvania in the wintertime. Friday was the first day that I met Paula. Paula and I became friends on Facebook via Valerie. Paula and Valerie have known each other for years and years.
Our first stop in Erie was at Dobbins Landing.

Yes, it was a lovely day. The sun shone brightly all day long. It is good that we made this trip on Friday. Grey skies and wintry precipitation returned today (Saturday). We ate lunch at Perkins Restaurant. I saw this “bee” at the check-out counter.
After lunch we drove to Presque Isle State Park, where Paula walked out onto frozen Lake Erie.

We stopped at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, as we left Presque Isle State Park. The tower provides another view of Lake Erie.

On our way back home, while on Route 79, we saw a sign for Christmas Tree Shops at Millcreek Mall. A large sign advertised CLEARANCE. Paula reminded Valerie that she wanted to buy a skinny Christmas tree. So we drove over to the Christmas Tree Shops. Guess what? We didn’t find even one Christmas tree! We did find something, though, that provided us a few moments of entertainment.

That looked like a really fun day! The pics with the hats were really cute:)
very nice photosregards
What fun to meet up with your friends. Must be something else to walk on a frozen lake. I have never had that experience. Your photos were great as always.
That is great way to spend a day. I've been to Pres. Area. I love places in Penn State.
I especially like the hat with the built in beard. It's fun to get the chance to meet virtual friends.
Girls days out are always fun. I would like to visit the Presque Isle Park, I heard it could be great for spring birding. Love the St Paddy hats.
It does sound like you had a fun time together! I have to say I really enjoyed the St. Patrick's hats/costumes!
