The Highlight of the Day
In my previous blog post, I shared with you photographs of chainsaw art. Although the art was amazing to see, attending the Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous was not the highlight of my day. The highlight of my day was meeting Gretchen.
Gretchen and I knew each other only in cyberspace, until yesterday.

Gretchen and I
Gretchen is a fellow blogger. She discovered my blog via a photograph that I had posted of Warren, PA — my hometown. Warren isn’t far from where Gretchen lives. Gretchen and I began exchanging comments on each others’ blogs. You may find Gretchen’s blog by clicking here. We became friends on Facebook. We talked about getting together for a cup of coffee one day. That day came yesterday, when Bob and I attended the Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous. We didn’t have a cup of coffee. We did, however, enjoy walking among the extraordinary works of art at the Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous as we began bonding our heretofore cyberspace friendship into a real-life friendship. The bonding process continued, as we shared lunch at Patalano’s Place II, a local Italian restaurant.
Gretchen, I am so glad that our paths crossed on the Internet. Bob and I both were happy to make your acquaintance in person. I am looking forward to our next meeting!

So fun! Yea for the both of you!
It is amazing to meet blog friends, isn't it? They come into our lives for a reason. We met Jack and Sherry this summer from Shipslog. It was a wonderful and easy meeting as we spent a few wonderful days back and forth. So Glad for You. BlessYourHearts
That is so cool that you met a new friend that way and I loved your chain saw rendezvous shots. It is truly amazing what they can do.
Good to know that you caught up with your cyber-friend!Ram
We've been fortunate enough to meet several cyber-friends in person, so understand why you feel meeting Gretchen was the highlight of your day.
Hi Linda, it was great reading how you met a fellow blog friend, Gretchen. It's also something that Grenville and I hope to do. We almost met a blogger friend this past fall when we were in Maine and in her town, but it didn't work out. Good to see that sometimes it does!
Its great to meet fellow bloggers, although I wouldn't know as I have yet to meet one LOL! Maybe someday.
Glad you got to meet Gretchen. Like you until this instance I have only corresponded with her through blogging, but we hope to get together for an elk photography session sometime. I liked your reporting and photographs on the chainsaw carving also. That is amazing!
Linda, it is always wonderful to meet new friends. Sounds like you all had a great time.
It was a wonderful day and meeting you was the highlight for me. It might have been cold outside, but your friendship was so warm, I wouldn't have minded walking around all day.Just let me know the time/date for the canoeing and we'll be there. The kids have both promised to drive me if hubby is working.Willard, I'm hoping to get an elk photoshoot in with you, too. You are definately the master of that!
Linda: Always great to meet a fellow blogger.
