On Wednesday, May 11th, we drove from our home in Warren PA to Leeper PA, a distance of approximately 47 miles. Our destination was the Rail 66 Country Trail trailhead. We parked off Route 66 in the Car Mate parking lot next to the trail. From the Leeper trailhead we rode our bicycles, south, to […]

It has been 8 months since I last published a blog post for ”Bicycling the beauty around us”. Our last bicycle ride in 2021 was in September. So far this year we have bicycled in our neighborhood, and we rode our bicycles at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on Assateague Island in Virginia. We bicycled a […]

Our wedding anniversary was this past Sunday, on September 26th. We decided to take an anniversary trip to Confluence PA, where we spent 3 nights at an Airbnb. We brought our bicycles with us. Around 10:00 am on Monday, September 27th, we left on a bicycle ride. Entry to the Great Allegheny Passage was a […]

We vacationed the week of June 25 through July 2 in Hudson, Ohio. We brought our bicycles with us, intending to bicycle the entire Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park several times during the week. Because of extreme heat and high humidity and rain we ended up riding only a […]

The three of us rode the new Quaker Run Multi-Use Trail (3.2 miles round trip). We didn’t realize that […]

UGH—I despise both squirrels and chipmunks. They are such a nuisance to us–especially chipmunks. They dig tunnels in our flowerbeds and destroy our flowers… The squirrels dig in the flowerbeds and also destroy the flowers… Drives us CRAZY–not to mention them eating the bird food. BUT–they are CUTE and I can understand why others like them…Hugs,Betsy
I especially liked the Kennedy quote for today. “Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education.” How true.
Thanks too the the comment on the Frog & PenguINN work crew of frogs- the original post was lost, as were all the cooments. Blogger had a problem on Friday the 13th!
Linda – what a GREAT afternoon of critter (and insect) watching – terrific closeups and portraits.
You got some great pictures of the squirrels and chipmunk. I'm not particularly fond of the wasp, however.
I love that chipmunk's cheeks…they look like they are just packed. Great photos of the squirrels, too.
Adorable little critter!
These photos are so clear, Linda – the critters seemed to be posing for you!
Beautiful creature Linda.. Except for the wasp of course.. :)Ram
