Valerie’s Feathered Friends
I am not scheduled to work on Tuesdays. This past Tuesday I visited my friend, Valerie, at her house. While sitting on the deck, chatting, I photographed some of the birds that frequented Valerie’s bird feeders.

Male Red-Winged Blackbird

White-Crowned Sparrow

White-Throated Sparrow

Blue Jay

Male Purple Finch

Female Purple Finch

Robin, with ruffled feathers

Goldfinch
I originally thought this bird was a Female Purple Finch. A friend said she thought it was a Vesper Sparrow. Another friend says it is a Female Red-Winged Blackbird. I wish all birds wore name tags!
This last bird was my favorite sighting of the day. It was the first time I had ever set eyes on the bird!

Indigo Bunting
In addition to taking pictures of birds, I took pictures of some backyard critters that visited us on the deck. I will share those pictures in my next blog post.

You're not the only one who wishes birds wore name tags! Your pictures are beautiful.
Love your bird photos! I to would like tags for those female bird sometimes!
Wow, such lovely photos! Birds are so beautiful.
Great bird pictures. I've seen Red-winged Blackbirds here –but they never come close to the feeders… My birds are mad at me today since I took all of the feeders down to power-wash the deck…. haHugs,Betsy
A great series of feathered friends Linda. I have one of them on my header today. Have a great weekend.
Love them all, especially the Bunting… I've never seen one.Hugs,Betsy
Wow! This is an impressive series of shots…I think there should be a little caption floating above each bird telling us what they are…you know like a cartoon caption…LOL
Well done Linda!…great pics …I particularly liked the Indigo Bunting and the Goldfinch. It is all about catching the glint in the bird's eye!
