Memorial Day Weekend – Skyline Drive (Loft Mountain Overlook to Rockfish Gap)
We spent the Memorial Day weekend in Virginia. On Saturday we drove the entire length of Skyline Drive (105 miles), from Front Royal to Rockfish Gap. In order to better showcase the photographs that I took along Skyline Drive, I have divided the drive into five areas:
Front Royal to Pass Mountain Overlook
Thornton Gap to Crescent Rock
Hawksbill Gap to Point Overlook
Bearfence to Simmons Gap
Loft Mountain Overlook to Rockfish Gap
This blog post highlights the portion of the drive identified as Loft Mountain Overlook to Rockfish Gap.

Loft Mountain Overlook

Two Mile Run Overlook

Ivy Creek Overlook
Isn’t that cloud amazing?

Ivy Creek Overlook

Rockytop Overlook

Horsehead Overlook
This concludes my blog posts showcasing photographs that I took while on Skyline Drive. I still have one more post from our Memorial Day weekend to upload, though, so please stay tuned!

Hello LindaWhat a great view and wonderful nature scenery. Just lovely…Thank you for visiting my blog and you comments. During the summer I have never enough time to visit other blogs or leave comments. Love to enjoy the outdoors in my garden or on long walks along the lake.- Cheers Gisela
Linda: That is a great place to capture landscape. I'm glad you had a clear day.
Linda, your photos from the drive are beautiful. Looks like you had perfect weather too. You were lucky not to see the hazy sky over the mountain ranges.
Lovely photos from the overlooks. I've been to Loft Mountain a long time ago. Usually we go as far as the Big Meadows.
Thanks for the memories of our ride along Skyline Drive last August. We went the opposite way, but I think we stopped at each one of these overlooks. You pictures are wonderful.
OH< WOW!!!! I love that one with the superb cloud formation…beautiful shots all though.
