Last Purchase of 2011

My husband, Bob, and I went shopping at Office Max the afternoon of New Year’s Eve. We purchased something for my “office”.

These two pictures show what my office looked like on December 31st, before we moved things to make room for our new purchase. There is a printer stand to the left of the desk and two bookcases to the right of the desk. To the left of the printer stand is a wooden cabinet and a file cabinet. Nothing is on the wall to the left of the file cabinet, except for the door leading out of the room.

We spent part of New Year’s Eve removing the contents of the desk, wooden cabinet and bookcases. Bob started to put together our new purchase late New Year’s Eve. He finished the task on New Year’s Day. We spent part of New Year’s Day and yesterday rearranging furniture and putting away the stuff that had been removed from the desk, wooden cabinet and bookcases.

The wall to the left of the file cabinet now contains the two bookcases. We turned the file cabinet 90 degrees and moved the wooden cabinet to the window wall in order to accommodate the bookcases along this wall.

Are you wondering what was our new purchase?

You need wonder no more.

Our new purchase was a corner desk.

My office is a small room. I was pleasantly surprised that the new desk and the furniture arrangement makes the room appear more spacious. We even managed to make room for a kitty perch. The desk is a more ergonomic choice for working on the computer than was the roll-top desk.

Bob is the best husband ever. Thank you, sweetheart, for putting together my new desk! My “office” never looked better!

Looks great! I can relate… yesterday I emptied my studio and did a feng shui arrangement. Now our dining room is filled with papers that have to go back to the studio, but not before a major purge. That is my January project…Cynthia

A new desk, sweet! But even sweeter as I read on, a helpful hubby, a new gorgeous niece, twins coming in June, (I'm a June twin), a beautiful happy family, a precious kitty, what a great way to start a new year. Thanks for stopping by.BlessYourHearts

I read all the comments, pass by Betsy's and laughed when i reached George's. That is really great, but most of all because you are fronting the window which gives illusion of space, and of course inspiration as well. The snow outside seems to be already thick!

Hi Linda, I like your new desk. It looks like a convenient workspace. I wish I had a separate room for my computer, right now I have a desk in my dining room. Your hubby is the best.

I LOVE THE KITTY PERCH!!!!! How kind of you to think of Patches as you created your new office space. I love that desk! Yes, it was nice of your husband to assemble it for you — those usually are not easy to put together. I'm sure you really enjoy working in there!

Love it! Especially the Kitty Perch. Now for some bird feeders outside that window to give you something to keep your eyes from tiring staring at the screen! šŸ˜‰
