Feeding Frenzy
A flock of starlings swooped down into our back yard this morning and proceeded to feast on the bird seed in our feeders.

The starlings must have heard about the winter weather advisory in effect from 7:00 PM this evening through 10:00 AM tomorrow morning. An additional 4-6 inches of snow are expected.

When we came home from our drive yesterday, there was a flock of them at our feeders, too…so far today, none have shown up. I think they are beautiful, but they can go through the feed and the other birds don't get much when they are here.
Oh the birdies really need to be fed this time of year—with weather like you have.. Even Starlings (which I don't like) –need to eat!!!!!! Glad you are feeding them…. Poor little birds.Hugs,Betsy
If Pennsylvania Starlings are like their Tennessee cousins, they didn't leave much for the other birds.
The poor lowly starling ~ they get such a bad rap. I guess it's because they are such seed hogs and nasty at nesting time to the other birds by laying their eggs in the nest and not attending to their own offspring. Even though, I still think they are a pretty little thing in their own way.
They certainly knew where to find a good meal to ward off the winter weather. Great shot. Darryl and Ruth 🙂
Hi Linda, after a snow the birds do seem to go into a feeding frenzy. Great capture. I have been trying to scare these starlings away from my feeders all morning. They are pigs. And the other birds do not get a chance.
They are such smart little creatures. God programmed such amazing survival abilities in them.
Those starlings are beautiful. I don't think they're that pretty in this area (maybe they are but I haven't seen any). Great shot.
