Thursday Night Ice Cream Ride
Bob and I went for an ice cream ride last night with several friends. We met up at the North Warren Presbyterian Church parking lot at 6:00 pm.

Before leaving for our ride, Paul french braided Donna’s hair.
Six motorcycles, one car and twelve people, including Bob and me, went on last night’s ride. We rode to Bob’s Trading Post in Kane, PA.
Approximately 15 miles into our ride, while on Longhouse Scenic Drive (FR262), John, who was riding in front of us, slowed down and stopped alongside the road. We slowed down and stopped beside him. Everyone behind us stopped as well. Paul, who was leading, continued along his way but turned around when he saw we had all stopped. John said his back tire was slipping on the wet roadway and wondered if anyone else was experiencing the same sensation. That is when we noticed that John’s back tire was flat. An attempt was made to stop the leak with a can of fix-it flat sealer. That didn’t work, as the sealing agent sprayed out of the tire.

John rode the motorcycle, slowly, with all of us following behind, the 9-10 miles to Bob’s Trading Post.

The punctured tire was not the only excitement on Longhouse Scenic Drive. Scott and Donna saw a deer along the side of the road. When Scott looked in the direction of the deer, he made a few erratic moves and ended up driving in the weeds along the side of the road. We were riding directly behind Scott and Donna. We are thankful that Scott was able to regain control of the motorcycle very quickly, without mishap! He handled the motorcycle very well!
When we reached Bob’s Trading Post, John and his wife Renate, who followed all of us in a car because she has a broken leg, drove into Kane to buy a tire plug kit.

Shawn repaired the punctured tire.
The ice cream is good at Bob’s Trading Post. The portions are very generous too. Donna’s ice cream cone is the small size. Bob and I ordered the small size, as well, but in cups. Even though the ice cream Bob and I ordered was no sugar added and fat free, I am sure that the calorie content was on the high side given the portion size! By the way Scott and Donna are getting married in a couple months. I agreed last night to photograph their wedding. I enjoy Scott and Donna’s company so much. They are a lot of fun to be around. I am looking forward to their wedding day!
Bob’s Trading Post is well known for its delicious pizza. Shawn, Debbie, Paul and Matt ordered pizza. The pizza looked and smelled good! We would have ordered pizza last night, but we had already eaten dinner.
The punctured tire and Scott’s off-road antics were not the only excitement last night. On our way home from Bob’s Trading Post, a deer ran out in front of Paul and Debbie. We were riding behind the two of them. Paul and Bob were able to brake in plenty of time, thus avoiding mishap. We returned home, safe and happy, around 9:15 pm. Thank you, Paul, for another great ride. We are looking forward to the next ride!
