Ride to Erie and Beyond

Bob sometimes works overtime on Saturdays.  June 28th was one of those Saturdays that Bob worked 5 hours overtime.  Soon after Bob came home from work (12:00 pm), we left on a motorcycle ride.

We rode to Erie PA, stopping at Outback for lunch. The air conditioning at Outback was a welcome relief, as the ride to Erie was very hot.

After finishing our delicious lunch at Outback (blooming onion appetizer and two steak dinners), we rode to Presque Isle State Park. We rode around the peninsula, stopping at two lighthouses and at the houseboats along Coast Guard Road. If it wasn’t such a hot day, we would have made a few more stops.

Leaving Presque Isle, we stopped for ice cream at Sara’s.

Hot, summer days are not good for the waistline!

We left Erie via the Bayfront Connector and followed Rt 430 through Findley Lake, Sherman, Mayville and around Chautauqua Lake.

We made a brief stop in Findley Lake, where I watched a father teach his young son how to fish.

We stopped briefly at the Chautauqua Lake Visitor Center just beyond Bemus Point on Interstate 86 as well.

We returned home around 7:45 pm. It was an enjoyable day for both of us.
