My husband and I visit Niagara Falls frequently, as it is only a couple of hours drive from our home. It is across the Niagara River from the city of Niagara Falls, Ontario, with both cities named after the famed Niagara Falls which they share. A good place to begin a tour of the falls is at the Visitor Center. From the Visitor Center it is only a short walk to Prospect Point. While at Prospect Point be sure to peek over the railing at the magnificent force of the American Falls. From Prospect Point walk to the Observation Tower, where both the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls can be seen. Take the elevator to the Maid of the Mist docking place. The Maid of the Mist boat ride is an exciting way to experience Niagara Falls. After riding the Maid of the Mist, make your way to Goat Island. I like to walk through the Great Lakes Garden on my way to Goat Island. While on Goat Island be sure to visit the Cave of the Winds attraction, where you will walk on boardwalks at the base of the Bridal Veil Falls. It is a good thing that raincoats and special footwear are handed out, as this attraction is quite wet! A short walk from the Cave of the Winds is Terrapin Point, where there is an excellent view of the Horseshoe Falls. From Terrapin Point walk to Luna Island for excellent views of the American and Bridal Veil Falls.
