Leelanau Peninsula, MI
The Leelanau Peninsula is located in the Northwest corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. The lower peninsula of Michigan is often described as a “mitten”. The Leelanau Peninsula can be described as the “little finger” in that mitten. My husband and I visited the Leelanau Peninsula for the first time in August 2013. The highlights of that visit included the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, the Grand Traverse Lighthouse in Northport, and Leland’s Fishtown.
