Niagara Falls Weekend Getaway (Saturday, Part 1)
We were up by 5:00 on Saturday morning (February 21st), which wasn’t surprising as we were in bed by 8:30 the night before. Because of the early start to our day, we had accomplished quite a bit by 10:00 am.
By 10:00 am we had eaten a hot breakfast at the hotel. It was a snowy day, but warmer than yesterday. We walked across Rainbow Bridge into Canada, took several pictures, and stopped at the duty-free shop for whiskey before walking back across Rainbow Bridge into New York. We walked to Prospect Point and all the way to Terrapin Point on Goat Island. By 10:00 am we were back at the hotel, warming up. Warming up was better than the thawing out that we did yesterday afternoon, after our trek to Prospect Point!
In this blog post I will share some of the photographs that I took, while in Canada.

Bob took this photograph of me, while we were crossing the Rainbow Bridge.

This is the view of falls from Rainbow Bridge.

American Falls

Horseshoe Falls

One last photograph of the American Falls, as viewed from Canada
Stay tuned. I will share the photographs that I took in New York on Saturday in my next blog post.

I love your pictures of the American Falls. The ice is amazing.
Oh wow … we said it could be a once in a lifetime thing! I know we would be driving right up there if we were in the area! Glad you could capture the scenes in photos!
Really nice. Wish I could get up there. Of course if this weather continues I may have until July to still see the falls frozen! Thanks for sharing!
Those photo’s of the Falls are very nice. It looks so cold there and I guess that it is!
We had made a trip up there a few years ago on the bike’s and stayed in a Hotel on the Canadian side. We had a great time while there. All the “foreign” people admired the 88′ Harley Tour Glide Classic that our friends had. They could have cared less about my Goldwing and Trailer. Oh Well. We shall return someday during the Summer, but this time by car.
