Happy 1st Birthday Kyla!

Today is our great niece’s birthday. Kyla is 1 year old today.

 

We celebrated Kyla’s birthday one week early. Jared and Sara held Kyla’s birthday party on Sunday, May 1, from 2:00 until 5:00 pm at the Alwine Civic Center in Greensburg, PA. The party destination was a 3-hour drive, each way, for us. We hadn’t seen my brother and his family since Christmas, so I looked forward to seeing everyone.

The civic center was tastefully decorated with pink balloons, a large poster showing Kyla’s first year in pictures, and a pink curtain backdrop. After Jared and Sara welcomed us all to Kyla’s birthday party and Jared said a prayer of blessing for the food, we got in line for the buffet-style lunch. Food selections included fried chicken, hot and cold pasta dishes, ham, small rolls, and a grape salad. Dessert selections included pie, cookies and cupcakes.

Children who attended the party received a homemade hobby horse (cute), and a jousting lance and jousting shield made out of material.

At approximately 3:15 pm Sara and Jared helped Kyla open her birthday presents, followed by the cake smash.The gift opening and cake smasher held in front of a curtain backdrop.

 

We arrived early, around 12:30 pm and left at 4:00 pm. Bob and I are happy that we were able to attend Kyla’s birthday party.
