Beware of a Puddle of Water on the Floor
As I entered our bedroom from the bathroom this morning, I heard a loud crash. My immediate thought was that our cat, Patches, had knocked down something. As I was thinking that thought, I saw Patches lying on our bed sound asleep. I walked through the house, room by room, and basement. I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.
Later in the morning, I noticed a puddle of water lying on the floor in front of the refrigerator. I knelt down and smelled the water making certain it was, in fact, water. I wiped up the water, thinking nothing of it except that Bob must have spilled water before leaving for 5 hours overtime work.
We picked up a few groceries yesterday afternoon. Two of our purchases were family size packages of hot dogs and chicken tenders. It was my intention to freeze the hot dogs and chicken tenders in meal-size portions, when we returned home from the store. I wasn’t feeling well yesterday, when we returned home from the store, so I left the separating and freezing task for the next day. My plan, when I opened the refrigerator, a little later this morning was to prepare the hot dogs and chicken tenders for freezing. What a mess greeted me, when I opened the refrigerator door! A glass growler had exploded in our refrigerator!
Glass and cold water everywhere!
I cleaned the refrigerator, being especially careful with the broken glass. I am thankful that the growler was full of water and not beer!
Now to prepare those hot dogs and chicken tenders for freezing!

What a funny story Linda, hidden breakage.
Hello, I have never heard of this happening. What would make it explode in the refrigerator?
Happy weekend!
There was some ice in the growler. The ice may have caused the bottle to explode.
What a way to start the day!
Certainly not a good morning, but I agree it was better tha a jug of beer!
