Neighborhood Deer

Since the middle of last month, neighborhood deer have been passing through our yard in search of food.  The deer have been successful in their search.  We watch for the deer each day we are home, since first seeing them.

I captured my first photographs of the deer on December 27th.

The next time that we saw the deer was on New Year’s Eve.

I captured a short video, as they crossed the street into our front yard.

The time was about 7:30 pm last night, when Bob said the deer were in our back yard.  I went into the living room, camera in hand, to watch for the deer as they crossed the street.  Bob let me know if the deer were walking down our driveway or crossing between our yard and another neighbor’s yard.

Two deer walked down our driveway and into our neighbor’s yard, before crossing the street.

Bob said there was one more deer coming.  That deer, though, stopped at our bird feeders.  The third deer realized his buddies had left, and he took off at a trot.  Deer #3 crossed in between our yard and a neighbor’s yard.

Deer #3 looked at me briefly, before trotting over to his buddies.  All three of them trotted into the wooded area across from our house.

We’ve had about a dozen deer in our back yard nearly every night for about a month. Fortunately we haven’t had the snow you’ve had.

George said it…. We have more deer around this year than I’ve seen in a long time… Our new neighbors leave out their bird feeders all of the time –so instead of the birds, the deer and squirrels enjoy the bird food… ha……

Great picture of those beauties… I always feel so sorry for the wildlife when the weather is bad.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

You have deer in your neighborhood! Have you always had them? When I lived in my home we had them and but since I moved to my apartment I have seen only old possums. You are lucky!

Hello, they are so sweet. Poor things must be really hungry with all the snow around. Love the photos. Happy Monday, enjoy your day and new week!
