On Wednesday, May 11th, we drove from our home in Warren PA to Leeper PA, a distance of approximately 47 miles. Our destination was the Rail 66 Country Trail trailhead. We parked off Route 66 in the Car Mate parking lot next to the trail. From the Leeper trailhead we rode our bicycles, south, to […]

It has been 8 months since I last published a blog post for ”Bicycling the beauty around us”. Our last bicycle ride in 2021 was in September. So far this year we have bicycled in our neighborhood, and we rode our bicycles at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on Assateague Island in Virginia. We bicycled a […]

Our wedding anniversary was this past Sunday, on September 26th. We decided to take an anniversary trip to Confluence PA, where we spent 3 nights at an Airbnb. We brought our bicycles with us. Around 10:00 am on Monday, September 27th, we left on a bicycle ride. Entry to the Great Allegheny Passage was a […]

We also have at least two morning doves who come around each year. We’ve never found their nest, but we can always find them hogging the plate on the bird feeder station.
Lovely photos and video Linda. Our Mourning Doves have started arriving. I always enjoy this time of the year. Happy march to you and Bob!
Hello, Linda
The mourning doves are so sweet. Love the photos and video! Have a happy day and a great new week!
We thought it would be fun the first year we lived in our VA house and barn swallows built a nest on the front porch. Once the eggs hatched, the porch became a bird toilet. After that we strongly discouraged any future nesters. Sometimes they were quite persistent and took a bit of shooing away with a broomstick!
