Lucky
Since late April a calico cat has been frequenting our front porch and back yard pavilion.
We shared the above-displayed video and photograph of the cat on Facebook, asking if she belonged to anyone. One of my Facebook friends wrote that the cat might belong to one of our neighbors, who moved into the neighborhood in late 2019 or early 2020. I found that neighbor on Facebook and sent her a message via Facebook Messenger. On May 4th we learned that our cat visitor belongs to our neighbor.
The name of our neighbor’s cat is Lucky. She is 11 years old and a rescue cat and is classified as a Tortie with white, not a calico! Lucky was an indoor cat for years before her family moved into our neighborhood. She went outside and has absolutely loved it, so she stays out quite a bit.
We absolutely LOVE having Lucky visit us. She is very friendly and loves to be petted.
We believe that the tomcat is feral. He is standoffish and won’t come anywhere near us. Thankfully Lucky is spayed, so there are no babies in Lucky’s future.

Very nice calico!! I take people who don’t drive to medical appts, shopping, etc. A lady who I served for years had me buy traps for the feral cats that hung around the senior residence she lived in. When she caught one I would take her with the cat (in trap) to a nonprofit agency that would inexpensively spay the cats. Then she would release them back into the neighborhood where she trapped them.
A friend of mine got a little house just for the female cats to hide out in…but I do not know how they keep the males out. They live in England.
Hello Linda,
Lucky is a cute kitty, I like the name too. I am glad you found out who the owner is.
Take care, enjoy your weekend!
Glad that you located the owner of your feline visitor, Linda. I too would have been uncertain of how to classify Lucky, who now has two homes to visit, especially since yours provides a great climbing location too.
Thanks for sharing that your anniversary dates are similar and also that you both met online as we did. Just goes to show that things can work out well! Maybe one day we will have a face-to-face meet-up as we have family and friends in the Lancaster, PA area.
We have family in the Amherst, NH area. A face-to-face meet-up would be nice.
Amherst is not very far away and perhaps we can arrange something. Let me know when you and Bob will be visiting family there.
Lucky is very lucky! Cute little cat too. I’m glad you found she has a home. Facebook is very good for that kind of thing. Even though I don’t do Facebook any more I can see its benefits. Gregg showed me your goose and gosling photos. They are adorable! Thanks for pointing me in their direction. I enjoyed them very much.
