This is the Giddings Road Covered Bridge.

We drove into a parking area, and I took this photograph without getting out of our car.  It was 1:40 pm, when we reached this covered bridge.  We had been touring covered bridges for the past 5 hours.  I was tired and hungry.

From Giddings Road Covered Bridge we drove a short distance into Jefferson, OH and ate lunch at a local diner.  After lunch, we continued our tour of the covered bridges in Ashtabula County, OH … six more to go!

Bob took this picture of me photographing the Smolen-Gulf Covered Bridge.

This is the photograph that I took of Smolen-Gulf Covered Bridge from the park bench.

I did walk down to street level for another vantage point.

The Smolen-Gulf Covered Bridge carries State Road over the Ashtabula River.
This is the longest covered bridge in the United States.

We visited the Smolen-Gulf Covered Bridge one time before, during the Labor Day weekend in 2010.  During that visit we walked across the bridge and drove down to Indian Trails Park, located underneath the bridge.  I wrote at that time that we planned “to make a return trip to Ohio because there are sixteen more covered bridges in Ashtabula County”.  I want to make a return trip to visit some or all of the covered bridges in Ashtabula County.  I sure hope it doesn’t take us almost 6 years to make that return trip!

This is the Olin Covered Bridge.

I read that the Olin family owns property next to the bridge.  I may have seen one member of the family, while I was taking pictures of the bridge.

The Olin Covered Bridge carries Dewey Road over the Ashtabula River.

I checked out the view of Ashtabula River, as it flowed underneath Olin Covered Bridge.

This is the Creek Road Covered Bridge.

 I walked over to one of the benches and sat down.

The Creek Road Covered Bridge crosses over Conneaut Creek.
This was the view from the park bench.

We found a trail leading down to the creek bed.

This is the State Road Covered Bridge.

We walked down to the creek bed, where Bob enjoyed skipping stones over the water.

The State Road Covered Bridge crosses over Conneaut Creek.
