Tuesday Night Ice Cream Ride

We went on a motorcycle ride Tuesday evening (Aug. 18th) with our 2 Scoop CycleTherapy group friends.

As usual, we met at the North Warren playground parking lot and departed from there at 6:00 pm. Our group consisted of eight motorcycles and 15 riders.

Our first stop was at the Tom Erlandson Overview Park in Frewsburg, NY.

From the Erlandson Overview Park we rode to the Busti Victorian Hall for ice cream.

As always, time spent with this group of friends is time well spent!

Short Motorcycle Ride

I am taking a short break from writing about our Easter vacation in Virginia to write about a more current event. I will return to vacation blog posts soon.

Bob and I went for a short motorcycle ride last evening with the 2 Scoop CycleTherapy group. We ride for ice cream.

We departed from the North Warren Community Park at 6:00 pm.

When I took the picture shown above, there were 5 motorcycles and 9 riders. I put away my camera, and two more riders and 1 motorcycle arrived. We met another rider and motorcycle in Russell. So, all total, there were 7 motorcycles and 12 riders on this ride.

We rode to the Busti Country Convenience Grocery in Busti, NY.

According to a brochure I found at the Busti Country Convenience Grocery, the mission of this store is to provide “our community with a quick and pleasant place to shop where they are treated like a friend. High quality food at all times. We want our customers to view us a a ‘convenience store’ not an inconvenience store. We will do our best to achieve this.” Bob and I have only enjoyed ice cream at this grocery. At $1.86 for one very large scoop of ice cream, it is a real bargain! Our friends told us the pizza, bread and stromboli are exceptionally good.

I am looking forward to our next ice cream ride!

Ice Cream Ride to Busti

I look forward to Wednesday night rides with friends. We ride for ice cream! We leave at 6:00 pm from the North Warren Playground parking lot, which is located not far from our house. We usually get home before dark. This blog post recounts an ice cream ride from a week ago.

On September 10th we rode from North Warren to the Busti Country Convenience Store in Busti NY for ice cream. The convenience store is a small grocery store that has an outside window for ice cream sales.

I took these two pictures in North Warren before the ride began.

In about 14 years Addison will be riding his own motorcycle on our ice cream rides 😉

These two photographs are the only pictures I took on this ride because it started to rain, as we were finishing up our ice cream.

Ice Cream Ride to Busti

I look forward to Wednesday night rides with friends. We ride for ice cream! We leave at 6:00 pm from the North Warren Playground parking lot, which is located not far from our house. We usually get home before dark. Our planned ice cream ride on August 20th got rained out. I was really disappointed until the ride was rescheduled for the next night.

As is the case on Wednesday nights, we met at the North Warren Playground parking lot.

We rode to Busti NY to the Busti Victorian Hall for ice cream.

After our ice cream stop, we meandered all over the countryside. I recognized some of the crossroads, but was lost most of the time. It was another great ride. I will miss these ice cream rides when summer ends!

An Ice Cream Group Times Two

I look forward to Wednesday night rides with friends. We ride for ice cream! We leave at 6:00 pm from the North Warren Playground parking lot, which is located not far from our house. We usually get home before dark. On August 13th there was another group using the playground parking lot, so we moved our meeting place up the road a little way.

We met at Slagle’s Speed and Sport in North Warren.

At 6:00 pm we left en route the Busti Victorian Hall in Busti, NY. It was a short ride, but we ended up with our ice cream riding group split into two ice cream groups. One rider pulled off at a gas station in Sugar Grove . We learned later that Marvin pulled off for a bathroom break. Another rider, John, made a u-turn to check on Marvin. Paul, our ride leader, didn’t realize our group had been cut in half until we reached a crossroad in Busti. Those of us still with Paul pulled into the Busti Victorian Hall.

Paul doubled back to the gas station in Sugar Grove. No one was there; Paul returned to Busti. Paul finally spoke with John on his cell phone. John thought we were riding around Chautauqua Lake. That is where rest of our ice cream riding group went. It was a fun night regardless. It’s always a fun time when there is a good story to tell! It was a chilly ride. This summer sure has been a cold and rainy one.

Ice Cream Ride

Yesterday evening Bob and I went on an ice cream ride with neighborhood friends.

We met up at the North Warren Presbyterian Church parking lot at 6:00 pm. Six motorcycles and ten riders, including Bob and me, went on this ride.

I tried to map our route but couldn’t recall all of the roads on which we meandered. Suffice it to say we rode on a few country roads to Busti NY, which is located less than 20 miles from our house. We stopped for ice cream at the Busti Victorian Hall.

It was nice sitting outside, eating ice cream and socializing with our friends.

I wish we could have stayed longer. The MyRadar Weather Radar app showed rain heading our way.

The blue ball right below Jamestown shows our location in Busti at the time. Below that blue ball and slightly to the right is Warren. See that big blotch of rain to the west? We quickly finished our ice cream and left for home. We all returned home without getting wet. The rain began to fall around 9:00 pm.

I hope that we are able to go on other ice cream rides this summer!
