Happy Birthday Patches!

Our cat, Patches, joined our family in February 2011.

Our veterinarian estimated Patches’ age to be about 6 months old, when we got her.

We picked August 29th as Patches birthday.

Today is Patches’ third birthday.

Happy birthday Patches!

You bring a smile to Mommy and Daddy’s faces each and every day!

New Condo and Perch

Whenever we come home from shopping, be it for groceries or other purchases, Patches checks out each item / bag.  She looks up at us, as if to ask “nothing for kitty?”  Patches gets excited when we bring home cat food.  She purrs loudly and rubs against the cat food bag as well as our legs.  She looks up at us, as if to say “you brought home something for the kitty”.

We went shopping today and brought home something for the kitty.

I’m so happy; you brought home something for the kitty!

Ms. Patches has become a chunky kitty.
She fills up the kitty condo.

Patches

Patches became a part of our family in February 2011.  She was around 6 months old at the time she joined our family.

I was looking through the pictures that I have taken of Patches since February 2011.  There’s a lot!

Here is the latest photograph of Patches, taken yesterday (January 6).  She loves her tunnel.

We are so very happy that Patches came into our life.

Our Christmas Tree

I took this photograph of our Christmas tree a short time ago, this evening.  The only lighting is that which shines from the bulbs on the Christmas tree.

Our Christmas Tree

Earlier this month I took a photograph of Bob, our cat Patches, and me for this year’s Christmas card.  I designed the card myself, with the help of a Photobacks holiday template.

This Year’s Christmas Card

The day after taking the photograph of Bob, Patches and me, Stacey stopped by the house.  She was enjoying a few hours personal time and looked so relaxed and pretty.  I couldn’t resist taking a couple photographs of Stacey and our Christmas tree.

Stacey and our Christmas Tree

Stacey is such a lovely young woman, inside and outside.  I am so blessed that she and her father came into my life 14 1/2 years ago.

We will be celebrating Christmas with Stacey, Mike and our granddaughters on Christmas Day.  I will return to blogging after Christmas.  Merry Christmas to family and friends near and far!

Patches and Snowbear

Our Christmas tree is up and decorated.

Do you know how long it takes to make a cat go where you want her and for that cat to stay there? It takes a long time, especially when you are home alone!

See the date on Snowbear’s scarf?
That is the year that Bob and I were married.
Snowbear was a present to me from Bob on our first Christmas together.

It’s a Start

While I was taking a shower yesterday morning, Bob put up the Christmas tree.   I was surprised, when I saw the Christmas tree, as I didn’t know Bob was going to put it up.

This is the second Christmas that Patches has been with Bob and me.

Patches under Christmas tree

Patches likes the Christmas tree.  I think she believes we put it up for her.  Patches behaves pretty well with the Christmas tree in the house.  We do have to discipline her from time to time.  A squirt or two from a water bottle stops the undesired behavior, at least for a while.

I am going through totes today, looking for our Christmas tree ornaments.  This season, when I put away the Christmas decorations, I will put all the ornaments in a separate tote and mark the tote as containing ornaments.
