Robin’s Nest
On May 21 I wrote about our new tenant, a robin family. I have been looking in on the robin family every day since then. On May 29 I watched, as one of the babies was being fed. Last evening I saw that at least two of the three eggs had hatched.

Mama Robin and Two Babies
This morning I walked back to our picnic pavilion to look in on Mama Robin and her babies. This is what I found.
My granddaughters are going to be heartbroken. Each day they have visited Grandma and Grandpa they have asked to see the Robin. Harper, June and I walk quietly to the picnic pavilion. With a finger across our lips (saying “shh” softly), we look up at the Robin’s nest. The girls were looking forward to seeing the baby robins one day.

Awww, that’s too bad. Do you think it was a cat or a larger bird who caused the destruction? Crows are often the culprit around here, they wait until the time is just right. I’m heartbroken for June and Harper.
That’s a sad part of nature’s way. So sorry your granddaughter’s won’t get to see them. Hopefully mom and pop Robin will build a new nest tone day. Thank for commenting on my blog. I have a quiet morning after a few hectic few days on vacation, and wifi is good at present so I am trying to return visits.
